Adopt A Family

***2025 Family Nominations for Adopt A Family are now closed***

For struggling families, holiday gifts and meals can feel out of reach. Each Christmas, Epiphany’s Adopt A Family ministry steps in to provide gifts and meals. Partnering with local agencies and schools, we identify families in need, who are then “adopted” by our Epiphany family. Through this ministry, we share Jesus’ love, support our neighbors, and help families focus on essentials while enjoying a more joyful Christmas.

How You Can Help:

  • Monetary Donations are accepted online year-round. Choose "Adopt A Family" from the dropdown fund menu. You can also make a monetary donation marked for "Adopt A Family" in the Sunday offering plate, in the Far Hills office, or in the locked drop box outside the upper-level Far Hills doors.
  • Adopt a Family in November/December: Purchase gifts for households in need. Those interested in purchasing gifts for others, please see the electronic newsletter for the digital link, or sign up in person on Sunday mornings at either the Far Hills or Austin Campus to purchase gifts for others. *2025 Family Nominations for Adopt A Family are now CLOSED. If you are seeking assistance, please contact your caseworker or contact 211 to locate resources.
  • Volunteer: This ministry relies on the generous donation of time and energy from many volunteer members of our congregation and community. Volunteers are needed to pick up and unload our bulk order of groceries, set up the drop-off/pick-up space at the church, sort and bag groceries for the families, provide guidance to donors during drop off times as required to unload gifts and ensure gifts are placed in the correct location in the church. Our biggest needs for volunteers are sorting and bagging food as well as helping during our pickup morning to load food and gifts in the vehicles for the social workers. Sign up to volunteer here.
  • Donate shelf-stable food: Individuals and groups are welcome to donate food or other staples that are provided to the families; please reach out by to coordinate.
  • Pray: We ask for prayers for families in need as well as for their social workers.

If you lead a group looking for a service project, we’d love to work with you!  Please contact us at Adopt-a-Family.
