I invite you to come to Epiphany Lutheran Church’s Far Hills Campus on Good Friday, March 25, for a time of reflection and prayer. In addition to our worship services at 12 noon and 7 p.m., there will be an opportunity for you to walk the path to the cross through a series of prayer stations. This is an individual time of devotion and prayer that includes twelve separate stations. When you enter the Gathering Space, you will be given a prayer booklet to guide you along the steps. The stations begin with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, and conclude with his death on Good Friday. At each of the 12 stations, there will be a Bible reading, questions for reflection and an activity.
The stations meander through the hallways, the Sanctuary and the Narthex (just outside the sanctuary). For those who wish to walk these steps, the church will be opened at 6 a.m. and will remain open through 11 p.m., breaking for worship at noon and 7 p.m.
Here is a list of stations that will make up the prayer path:
1. Triumphal Entry Into Jerusalem
2. Jesus is Anointed at Bethany
3. Jesus is Betrayed
4. Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet
5. Pilate Washes His Hands
6. The Cross
7. The Painful Thorns and Whip
8. The Sour Wine
9. Remember Me
10. The New Agreement with God
11. Distracting Dice
12. Light of the World
I hope you will consider this opportunity. My hope and prayer is that this addition to our Holy Week offerings will be a meaningful journey for those who take it, remembering Jesus in his suffering and death, and anticipating his glorious resurrection.
Peace,
Pastor Charlie
Pastor Charlie, please let me know when I can be of help and what you’d like for me to do.
Thank you pastor for you discipline to your blog and for reminding us of the simple things in life that lead us to the Lord.
I will be glad to help. Let me know what I can do. If you need some calligraphy in signs identifying the stations I would be willing to do this. I have a lot of paper suitable for this.
