A Community Conversation in Response to The Anxious Generation

Following our community-wide read of The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, parents, caregivers, educators, and community members are invited to gather for a morning of conversation, learning, and shared commitment around the mental health and well-being of children and youth. Together, we'll explore how we can take collective action to support young people in an increasingly anxious world. You don't have to have participated in a book club or even read The Anxious Generation to participate in this event.

What to Expect

  • Expert Presentations: Learn from Bethany Mallory, PsyD, Child Psychologist and Erin Bucher, Elementary School Principal
  • Topical table conversations facilitated by community experts and focused on shared challenges and local solutions.
  • Community resources related to: Youth and family mental health, screen-free community building and engagement, and local organizations supporting children, teens and families.
  • Space to listen, learn, ask questions, and imagine what's possible when a community works together.
  • Elementary Activities: Companion activities will be provided for students in grades 1-5 during the event. (Pre-registration by February 6 required for kids activities!)

Light refreshments provided: Enjoy a continental breakfast and snacks while connecting with others.

Together, let's move from awareness to action, and continue building a healthier, more connected community for our children and teens.
